Key Commitments

Halve Emissions by 2030: ZuriPlanet is committed to reducing its greenhouse gas emissions by 50% by 2030. This target will be achieved through comprehensive strategies, including improving energy efficiency, transitioning to renewable energy sources, and optimising operational practices.

ZuriPlanet is already making substantial strides to meet these goals. Climate action has become a core part of their business—both within their company and portfolio. The firm has implemented several key initiatives to reduce its carbon footprint, including adopting renewable energy sources and enhancing energy efficiency across operations. These efforts demonstrate ZuriPlanet’s proactive approach and unwavering commitment to sustainability and inspire hope for a greener future.

“In line with the SME Climate Hub, we have committed to cutting our carbon emissions in half by 2040 and reaching ‘Net Zero’ by 2050. At ZuriPlanet, we recognise the urgent need for climate action and are committed to leading by example. By pledging to the SME Climate Hub, we are setting ambitious targets for ourselves and encouraging other SMEs to join this crucial movement. Our focus involves cutting Scope 1 and Scope 2 emissions, and we have already begun implementing this by introducing renewable solar energy,” said Michael Esilaba, Executive Director of ZuriPlanet Africa LTD.
